Inspiration From the Stars

So, this Friday May 23-24 is a meteor shower and we're in for quite a show. Predicted rates of falling stars (or interplanetary chunks of rock) are quite high - 100 to 400 meteors per hour, which is far higher than a normal meteor shower. I just learned that the level of meteor showers can be quite unpredictable but at any rate, you should step outside into the night and see if you can catch the show. Start by taking a look once the sky is dark and check the sky about every hour or so. So get comfy, let your pupils dilate and pay attention. Meteor showers also have mystical and inspirational meanings. The ancients often thought of them as candles of the angels and souls, a sign from the devine. Wishing on stars is an age old tradition and one that should never be forgotten. Meteor showers can conjure ideas, give a surge of energy, make dreams more vivid, are a sign or a message; and I personally think it's the best time to make wishes, manifestation and intentions. One way to do this is simply get a pen and paper and write down your goals and intentions. You can either choose to bring your list with you while you watch, burn it to release it to the stars (Chinese flying sky lanterns or Flying wish paper are great for this) or just imagine your list and meditate while you watch the stars. There is no right way or wrong way to do this, it's important that it feels right to you. You can even make up your own ritual and have fun with it.

Mini Readings for 2014

So, we're passing over half of our first month into 2014. Aries (Ram) - March 21st to April 19th: Pay attention to working with others. It's important to sense what is best for the group or partnership - focus on cooperation and reciprocity.

Taurus (Bull) - April 20th to May 20th: Spontaneity is of importance this year. This is a year for coming up with new ideas and embracing them.

Gemini (Twins) - May 21st to June 21st: This is a year to get organized in your work and personal life. Any scattered energies need to be reigned in and balanced.

Cancer (Crab) - June 22nd to July 22nd: Embrace change this year. If you've been hiding under the covers, now is the time to revise, rework, transform and adapt.

Leo (Lion) - July 23rd to August 22nd: Accept help and support from others. Learning to let go and self love is super important for you this year.

Virgo (Virgin) - August 23rd to September 22nd: Take a chance with new friends, focus on networking and be a team player.

Libra (Scales) - September 23rd to October 23rd: Learn to be more independent and take risks. Starting new things will freshen up any stuck energies. Go for it!

Scorpio (Scorpion) - October 24th to November 21st: Open up your heart, travel, or go back to school. This is a year for personal growth.

Sagittarius (Archer) November 22nd to December 21st: Be more discerning this year. Think about new projects or relationships before embarking on them and leaving them incomplete. It's all about quality versus quantity.

Capricorn (Goat) - December 22nd to January 19th: Career is always important for you hardworking folk but this is the year to embrace people before your work.
